Bring your timeline, not your product shelf: what makes a firmness consultation useful
Most people who book about firmness arrive with a list of products they have tried. The more useful thing to bring is a timeline.
Firmness is layered, so one look is not the whole story
Skin laxity is the gradual loss of firmness and elasticity - skin feeling looser, or softer in its definition, than it once did. It is shaped by several things at once: natural ageing and genetics, years of sun exposure, lifestyle, and shifts in the deeper structures that support the skin.
Because it is layered and individual, there is no single explanation. Looking at your skin tells us where things sit today. Your history is what suggests why - and why matters, because two people describing the same change can be describing different causes.
What a timeline looks like
You do not need dates or detail. Rough is genuinely fine:
- When you first noticed a change, and what made you notice it
- How your sun exposure has run over the years - including ordinary daily exposure, not just holidays
- What has shifted in the last year or two: health, sleep, stress, weight, routine
- What you have already used, and how your skin responded to it
That last point saves the most time. Knowing what your skin has not enjoyed narrows things quickly.
Where the calmer treatments sit
LED light therapy is one of the gentler sessions at our Seddon rooms - a quiet, comfortable step used to support the skin and keep a routine consistent, with little to no downtime for most people. It is supportive rather than a standalone fix, and we are honest about that.
Laxity and sagging sits in consultation-led care, so we do not recommend or advertise specific advanced approaches online. That conversation happens privately, designed with AHPRA and TGA in mind.
Registered Nurse Nqobile Nhlebela is Curtin-trained with fourteen years of nursing behind her, now focused on skin. She will be honest if your goals would be better served elsewhere.
