Laxity & Sagging

Close-up of skin showing laxity and sagging

Skin laxity is the gradual loss of firmness and elasticity that can leave skin feeling looser or softer in its definition over time. It affects most people as the years pass and is shaped by many factors. At Opulence Aesthetics in Seddon, Melbourne, this concern is consultation-led — we don’t recommend or advertise specific advanced treatments online. Care begins with a private, honest conversation with Registered Nurse Nqobile Nhlebela.

What laxity and sagging actually mean

Skin laxity is a loss of firmness and elasticity. Over time, many people notice their skin feels softer in its definition or holds its tautness less than it once did — a normal change that looks different for everyone. Several factors can play a part:

  • Natural ageing and genetics
  • Years of sun exposure
  • Lifestyle and shifts in the deeper structures that support the skin

Because laxity is layered and individual, there is no single explanation. If you are in Seddon, wider Melbourne or a surrounding suburb, the most useful first step is an honest conversation about what you are noticing.

Who this tends to suit

People come to us at many stages — some notice early changes in firmness, others have been thinking about it for a while. There is no right or wrong time to ask questions. This concern suits a careful, considered approach rather than a quick fix.

  • Suitability is assessed individually at a private consultation
  • We take time to understand your skin, your history and what matters to you
  • We will be honest if your goals would be better served elsewhere

How we begin at Opulence

Laxity sits in the area of advanced, consultation-led care, so we don’t recommend or advertise specific advanced treatments online. Care begins with a private consultation with Registered Nurse Nqobile Nhlebela at our Seddon rooms. Nqobile is a Curtin-trained Registered Nurse with fourteen years’ nursing experience, now focused on aesthetic and skin care (AHPRA reg. NMW0001572477).

Your consultation is designed with AHPRA and TGA in mind — honest, individual advice, never promises made before we have met. It includes:

  • A calm, unhurried conversation about what you are noticing
  • An in-person assessment of your skin’s condition and history
  • Clear, honest guidance on whether and how we may be able to help

Please note Opulence Aesthetics does not offer device-based firming or skin-tightening treatments. Where that approach may be relevant, we will say so honestly.

Why we start with a consultation

Your first visit is a private consultation, which you can request online or by calling us. We keep this concern off the page deliberately, because the right path depends on you — your skin, your history and what you hope to feel more comfortable with.

  • We listen first, asking about your skin, your routine and what is on your mind
  • Nqobile then offers clear, realistic guidance
  • There is no pressure, and outcomes are never guaranteed, because every skin is different

Frequently asked

What causes skin laxity and sagging?

Laxity comes from a gradual loss of firmness and elasticity. Natural ageing, genetics, years of sun exposure, lifestyle and changes in the skin’s supporting structures can all contribute. Because it is so individual, an in-person assessment in Seddon is the best way to understand what is happening for you.

Why don’t you list a treatment for laxity on the website?

Concerns like laxity sit in the area of advanced, consultation-led care. In keeping with AHPRA and TGA guidance, we don’t recommend or advertise specific advanced treatments online. Any guidance is given privately, after Nqobile has assessed your skin in person.

Does Opulence offer firming or skin-tightening devices?

No. Opulence Aesthetics does not offer device-based or skin-tightening firming treatments. If that approach may be relevant for you, we will tell you honestly during your consultation and help you understand the options available.
